Jump into playwriting and start creating your own work! Over four Sundays, explore the fundamentals of theatrical storytelling: how stage dialogue works differently from film, how to build characters with genuine conflict, what makes a scene compelling, and how to structure a story for the stage. Each session includes creative exercises and timed writing prompts designed to get you writing without overthinking. Through group reads, scene analysis, and supportive feedback, you'll gain confidence in the craft and walk away with the skills to start your own playwriting journey. Whether you're a clown looking to create original material or simply curious about the form, this class welcomes all who want to put pen to page in a collaborative, encouraging environment.

Jess is an actor-creator and playwright from the UK who has been writing and developing original work professionally for over six years. They hold a BA and MA in English with a focus on playwriting and dramaturgy. Jess is a qualified adult education teacher, and specializes in teaching creative writing in a supportive, hands-on environment.
