Internationally acclaimed clown, star of stage and screen, and master teacher Phil Burgers (aka Dr Brown) continues to teach at The Clown School, schedule permitting. In addition to Burgers, The Clown School is thrilled to present Virginia Scott as one of our regular teachers. Scott has been teaching commedia, clown and physical acting since 2005 at such programs as Juilliard, NYU and Movement Theatre Studio. She is the co-founder with Christopher Bayes of The Funny School of Good Acting in New York City.

Clown on, friends!We are still enjoying the aftermath of our sponsored visit from internationally renowned Clown maestro Philippe Gaulier, who offered a 2-week masterclass in late August 2014 in collaboration with the extraordinary Canadian company Fixt Point. Since Philippe’s visit, LA has also played host to master clown teachers Paola Coletto and Aitor Basauri, and The Clown School has supported each of these events. Additionally, for three successive years one of the world’s foremost exponents of the teaching of Jacques Lecoq, Norman Taylor, offered a highly successful masterclass presented by New York’s Movement Theatre Studio and co-sponsored by The Clown School.
The Clown School is an official partner of the Stanislavsky Institute in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Founding Director David Bridel was in Brazil in the summer of 2013, offering masterclasses in the art of clowning at the Stanislavsky Institute, the University of Sao Paulo and at UNICAMP, in Campinas.
